12th Press Release (NEWS) of the 35th Ordinary General Chapter (CGO or Capitolo Generale Ordinario) of the Congregation of Schools of Charity-Institute Cavanis
Morlupo (RM), Monday, July 31, 2019
After the celebration of the Eucharist in Italian presided by Fr. Ciro Sicignano, today the Capitulars resume the work of partial re-edition and approval by section and then as a whole to create a final document of the General Chapter, work that takes place in plenary session. The outline of the document follows the traditional four parts, which also correspond to working groups: 1) Religious Life; 2) Pastoral Vocation and Formation; 3) Pastoral Life and Charism, especially on education and Spiritual Exercises; The text also contains a section on the formation of the laity cavanis; 4) Government and Administration.
The basis of this work was the draft summary prepared by the Committee for the drafting of the document. The careful work of examining the text by amendments has been carried out orally, with very short interventions and simultaneous translation; the propositions and proposals were then voted individually by raising of the hand. All this work of correcting the drafting the text to bring it to the final version was done by Fr. Alvise Bellinato, moderator of the day, on the PC, with projection of the text on a huge screen, as well as all the documents presented during the Chapter. In the end, the document was voted on, done by raising of hands and unanimously approved (24 votes out of 24).
Subsequently, the committee of the three auditors elected by the capitulators presented the written report on the economic statement of the six-year period (2013-2019) presented to the Chapter days ago by the Economo Generale P. Irani Luiz Tonet.Then, the following documents, letters, messages are read in draft:
1. Letter of the General Chapter to Pope Francis.
2. To Cavanis Religious and the Laity
3. To the Youth.
4. To Mother Lourdes Colombo, Superior General of the Pio Istituto del S. Nome di Dio (Cavanis Sisters).
5. To the Superior of the Jesus Good Sheperd Community.
6. To the Calasanzian family.
Later, after a short interval, Fr. Giuseppe Leonardi presents in Chapter and launches the new book: "History of the Cavanis Institute – Congregation of the Schools of Charity (1772-2019). The work, which he produced in 13 years of historical archival work but also of his personal experience of the Institute, it has:Pages 1, 542
A multitude of data tables and graphical representation.
The book was provisionally printed and bound in two copies (by a photocopier), with an elegant cover, to show it to the capitulators, after further review, and the addition of the input of dates, data, facts provided to the author by various of the capitulators, and it remains to current preposito generale to dispose of the publication.
After the presentation of the book, The Secretary Fr. Giuseppe Moni reads and the Chapters correct and approve the last minutes of the meeting. Tomorrow, August 01, the General Chapter will end with the Laude and then with the final solemn concelebration of the Mass, which will be celebrated in the chapel of the Good Shepherd at 10 o'clock.
